To some, Declan is a friendly, social person who loves freedom and fun just as much as anyone else—to others, he's a complete nuisance in need of arrest, causing uproars and disturbances wherever he goes. If you're looking for a bit of trouble, this is your guy.

- Before his Hogwarts attendance, Declan's mother educated him at home. He was also granted a brief period of time at a muggle school, but his magic-induced disturbances (as well as general bullying) earned his withdrawal, and a period of isolation from all muggles.

- Of the few friends he had growing up, a halfblooded girl named Audrey was the one he stayed the closest with. This relationship carried on into their school years.

- Declan took deep pride in Slytherin, though he did no favours for the house's reputation. He was a trouble-making upstart and would cause problems consistently; he was certainly not focused on his studies, and preferred honing his skills and experimenting at his own pace.

- He initially entered Hogwarts with a cat companion, but she met her end in a fight against another familiar. Declan disappeared for a month following this incident, alongside Audrey, his girlfriend at the time. By the time they returned, they seemed to treat each other like strangers, and to this day, they refuse to speak of anything that happened during that period.

- By this point, Declan had become a completely different person; he was standoffish and hardly spoke a word, snapping at anyone who tried to draw his attention. He would leave the property more and more frequently, and stay away for longer periods at a time.

- Declan attended Hogwarts a short ways into his 6th year before dropping out. He seemingly disappeared for months before turning up in Portsmouth.
