mom's a witch. a rather poor witch at that, with not so great magical genes. she didn't enjoy the politically fueled life that magic involves, so she chose to live her life as a muggle after her hogwarts education. she met griffin's dad in her late teens and they fell madly in love. they have a peculiar relationship. they love each other very much, but they're both incredibly stubborn. they'll sleep on the couch just to prove their point. at least once a week you can hear them screaming at each other at the top of their lungs. the kids just roll their eyes and put earphones in. it stops eventually and they're back at it showing too much public displays of affection. lavender got pregnant early on into their relationship. nervous. she hadn't told arwin that she was a witch. she was hoping it would never come up. kids weren't her plan, but she also wasn't trying to plan around them. luckily for her, corinne miriam tandie grew up to be absolutely normal. not a drop of magic. every day lavender sighed a breath of relief. the magic in her family line wasn't strong - lots of squibs and lots married into muggles to begin with. sadly for her, she lost round two. "let's name him griffin." she couldn't hold back her surprised laughter. arwin looked at her indigently. "what??? lav that's a good, solid, strong name." she stifled her laughter, putting her hand over her mouth to hide the smile that was still there. "no. you're right. i love it. griffin tandie it is." she smiled and held arwin's hand in hers, giving him a reassuring kiss on his forehead. magic wasn't her life anymore. everything would be fine.

griffin was born a healthy crying baby. their little family was complete. their wonderful, beautiful, normal little family lived a normal, wonderful life for all of seven years. then there was the day that lavender went outside to fetch him for dinner, and found him in the garden to find griffin playing with a swarm of flitterbys. she thought nothing of it. flitterbys were essentially butterflies, there was nothing to worry about. then it was fairies. but fairies love being told that they're pretty - muggle or wizard alike, it didn't matter to them. it was only when the augurey moved into their rose bush that lavender had to admit that something was going on. that something was griffin's magic appearing.

[attr="class","griffinfo"]he's close as he can be with his older sister. they grew up together and do have a strong sibling bond, but there's a bit of a rift because of his magic that griffin doesn't know how to close. he just tries his best to not talk about it too much, but it's hard when it's literally his life.

[attr="class","griffinfo"] he is ridiculously protective of his little sister. he doesn't get to see her as much as he likes, but writes her letters and sends her wizard polaroids of the magical animals he's interacting with. REALLY hopes that she's also a wizard.

[attr="class","griffinfo"]not really afraid to show affection, just doesn't do it very often. he feels like affection should be kept between two people, not shown to the world. whenever he makes larger displays than hand holding or chaste kisses means he's really trying.

[attr="class","griffinfo"]busy body. always moving, always going, always consuming his time with something. be it school, be it work, be it adventuring. he hates sitting still and needs to be doing.

[attr="class","griffinfo"]absolutely loves animals. any kind of animal is just amazingly awesome to him. dragons are just especially cool. once he's done with school, wants to work out in the field with them. studying. not taming.

[attr="class","griffinfo"]was engaged for eight months, in a relationship for two years. she just broke up with him over the holidays. yikes.
