cecil will probably not like alvin very much. alvin himself doesn't care for history of magic at all since it's not a class where you get to learn new spells you can use outside. and i can see him probably being distracted when she is teaching. like when she is displaying techniques or creating debates, alvin probably would just kind of stare off thinking about something else. like maybe what some prophecy he spoke of could mean or perhaps even doing homework for another class? XD either way, i don't think alvin would be cecil's favorite student at all.

so we somewhat talked about this but alvin is probably pretty close to samantha. maybe when he was a first year, samantha was showing him around? alvin himself would probably need someone like samantha to at times be direct pointing out when alvin says something wrong. like whenever he accidentally slip out some deragatory words about mudblood that he doesn't mean to. he just hears it so much that it's normal to him. at the same time i can see alvin being really supportive of samantha. he has the belief that people should be allowed to do what they want to do. it's also why he doesn't really believe in the idea of prophecies are compeltely 100% true, especially since his own is more about crossroads rather than the results. also i can see alvin probably loving the fact that samantha is an animagus if only because that means that she is an extra ability not many has which to him is just cool.

i can see alvin probably wanting to befriend morrigan? the fact that she can read minds is something he would find cool because once again, not many people can do that. alvin doesn't really have any secrets to keep so he wouldn't really be guarded around morrigan. although alvin can at times slip some mudblood slurs so that might get to morrigan. although since morrigan can read minds, she could maybe read that he doesn't really mean much by it so that might help? or not, idk. what do you think?

alvin tends to get into trouble so the two could maybe meet in detention? although linus might find alvin annoying if only because he doesn't read social cues and has no sense of personal space. so maybe a one-sided annoyance where alvin acts like they are friends but linus is just all "no we're not"?

Derek Hoffman && alvin nox
but derek and alvin are outgoing friendly people so i think they would probably have met and talked to each other despite the year difference. alvin doesn't really care much about houses either as well. however, while derek is loyal to a fault with his friend, alvin tends to accidentally forget his friend sometimes due to how easily distracted he gets. so i think that could be interesting with alvin at times forgetting that he promised to hang out with alvin sometimes? depending on how forgiving he is, the two could just go to being friends again? since alvin would feel bad and he would try to change but change is pretty hard for him, especially since while he tries his best on self-improvement, it is only towards knowledge. he isn't really trying to be a better person. also despite the fact that his new family is a mudblood, alvin was raised by two purebloods for a while. so sometimes racist slurs just kind of slip from him that might get to derek. so derek may get annoyed by alvin sometimes or maybe he can help alvin you know..learn not to use those words because it's horrible. since it's not like he really believes in those words but habits and past upraising. there's also his aunts and uncles who may judge his father his new wife and they may also kind of instill some anti-muggle thoughts into alvin. alvin also isn't really interested in muggles (he finds them boring because they don't have magic) so it's not like he ever really did research to see if what they say is true or not either.
