A year ago, the previous Minister for Magic died under mysterious circumstances. Ophiuchus Malfoy became appointed as the new Minister for Magic. Ophiuchus is a 65 year old wizard and never wedded nor bore children, sacrificing his personal life to pursue his political career. His main concerns are towards the Wizarding community's future generation – their children and students.

He believes that it is a waste for the Ministry to waste so much money on magical education for Muggleborns, since a significant portion of them return to the muggle world in their adult life. He still faces resistance against muggle sympathisers.

Finnagán Lovegood seems to have been Headmaster for as long as anyone could remember… which is rather peculiar, seeing as he had only held that position for a decade or two. Finnagán has since introduced a new paradigm for Hogwarts: he welcomes the growing Halfbreed population to receive magical education and encourages the rest of the school to become more familiar themselves with them.

Finnagán too, sired no children, although he was happily married to late Sebastian Potter. He believes in throwing children into the deep end of the pool: letting them face difficulties and dangers themselves instead of mollycoddling them.

Owing to his childhood spent in Northern Ireland, Finnagán speaks with a prominent Irish accent. He is also rather fond of the muggle beer, Guinness. On weekends, he is often found drunk on that stuff in the staffroom.
